The residential community of Melrose Plantation is located along the east coast of Daufuskie Island. Members and guests of the club are invited to play its Daufuskie Island - Melrose Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus or eight Har-Tru tennis courts at the tennis center, designed by Stan Smith. They can also visit its three-and-one-half miles of sandy beaches, riding stables, swimming pools, exercise room, and sauna.

Melrose is a community open to both residents and tourists. Within Melrose are Stan Smith designed tennis facilities, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, equestrian facilities, a general store, a pool with an ocean view, three restaurants, a historical inn, and a conference center. At the Stoddard Inn, one can rent beach cruisers for an afternoon bike ride or indulge in a game of croquet. Residents of Melrose can drive their golf carts on the smooth dirt paths to quickly get around or use the bus service. The neighborhood of Melrose is also a resort, so the grounds are kept meticulously. In addition, Melrose boasts large ocean view hammocks where residents and vacationers can enjoy lemonade and a book. The pool at Melrose offers drink and dining services from the Beach Club Restaurant, and close by is a workout facility with a full locker room.
